Copy of letter from the Diplomatic Officer.
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated the 11th December stating that the Shing Ki in Jervois Street, Hongkong, has forged the trade-mark of the Cocaine Factory Merek, Darmstadt, which they printed at Coblenz, and that se enquiries have shown that they are only Agents in Hongkong for the Shing Ki at Shap Pet Po, Canton, and a large quantity of morphine and cocaine has recently been seized, it appears that this Shing Ki at Shap Pet Po has some connection with the case, and asking that enquiry be made.
I have duly written to the Public Pesce Bureau, Centon, asking them to act accordingly, and a reply has now been received from the Commissioner of the Bureau, which rends as follows:-
